May 07, 2026

To use Lithuania's toll roads, an electronic road toll payment (e-vignette) is required before entering the tolled section.

The toll obligation applies exclusively to goods vehicles of categories N1, N2 and N3, as well as buses of categories M2 and M3. Category M1 passenger cars – including electric cars and motorhomes registered as M1 – are not subject to tolls in Lithuania and may travel on all roads free of charge.
In the case of light commercial vehicles, the classification is decisive: a vehicle registered in the vehicle registration certificate as category N1 is subject to tolls even if it has the shape of a passenger car and weighs less than 3.5 tonnes. The vehicle category is indicated in the vehicle registration certificate.

Toll types

The toll is available for three durations:

  • 1-day toll
  • 7-day toll
  • 30-day toll

* Annual tolls can no longer be purchased since 1 July 2026. All electronic vignettes automatically expire on 1 January 2027, as this is the date on which the replacing distance-based tolling system starts.
* No toll has to be paid for a trailer, and when attaching a trailer the existing vignette does not need to be modified either: only the axles of the motor vehicle are taken into account when calculating the fee.

The toll calculation is displayed by the system after the vehicle and journey details have been entered.

ℹ️ Online purchase and required details

Payment of the road usage fee is made online. Registering the vehicle takes only a few minutes. The following details are required:

  • Registration number
  • Country of registration
  • Vehicle category and number of axles
  • E-mail address
  • Mobile phone number

When placing the order, you must provide the vehicle's registration number and the country where the vehicle is registered, then select the start date and duration of validity.
The system requests an e-mail address and a mobile phone number for contact purposes. The mobile phone number is required because the link to the certificate is also sent by SMS, ensuring that the user receives the certificate even if e-mail delivery is impeded for any reason.

Upon successful payment, the system sends a receipt and a QR™ SMS code containing the vehicle's identification data and the validity period of the purchased entitlement.

⛔ Fines

The legislation (Article 463 of the Code of Administrative Offences) sets out in detail the fines to be expected if someone enters a tolled road section without valid payment:

  • The fine that may be imposed on the vehicle's driver ranges between €170 and €350.
  • The fine that may be imposed on the vehicle's owner or operator ranges between €700 and €1,000.
  • Enforcement is carried out using automatic number plate recognition cameras, without stopping the vehicle.

Here, through the registration portal, the required road toll payment certificate can be obtained online in just a few minutes, and it is recorded in the official register of Via Lietuva AB.

Components of the registration service

With us, the toll is available together with the Comfortia and Auxil services; their fee is part of the registration fee.

Under Comfortia – if you mistyped the details when placing the order – we will change the registration number, the country of registration, the vehicle category, the destination country or the start date of validity once free of charge; the system checks for obvious typing errors automatically and, if necessary, manually as well. At least 24 hours before the start of validity, the order can be cancelled and the full amount refunded, with the exception of the annual vignette.

Under Auxil, if you receive a fine for a reason related to your order, we provide legal assistance within 180 days of the order: we act as your authorised representative before the competent authority, submit an appeal, and initiate a payment deferral or a reduction on equitable grounds. In justified cases, we may also reimburse the amount of the fine, up to a maximum of EUR 300.

Further details can be found in sections 4.1 and 4.2 of the General Terms and Conditions.
